In today's episode we dive deep with Lily; a BCBA specializing in Neurodivergency and Autism, about the delicate dance between pre & probiotics. We created a mini masterclass all about this subject where Lily got to ask me all the questions that actually came from her community.
Probiotics are like little superheroes that help our tummies stay healthy, help us digest food, make our immune system stronger, and even keep our brains feeling good. Prebiotics are like their sidekicks, supporting the good bacteria in our tummies, making it easier for them to do their job and keeping us healthy. We also sharing info about special bacteria that are especially helpful for women. We give a list of foods that are like fuel for these good bacteria, such as bananas, garlic, and yogurt. We explain that these foods help our gut microbiome stay diverse and balanced, making sure we feel our best. The conversation also touches on important things like whether it's safe for pregnant or breastfeeding ladies to have these goodies, and they explain how to reintroduce foods if our gut microbes get upset. we gave example of how heat affects some of these bacteria and helping us understand the difference between lactose intolerance and lactose maldigestion. So, listen up, and let's take care of our Gut microbe for a happy and healthy us!

The unconventional solo episode of my first 3 years of life, my CPTSD, and how I see the world now.
This episode does mirror the current genocide happening in P*lestine and how we can prepare our family and our world for what is to come in terms of chronic illness & mental status.
As it was once said:
"I'm not right, I'm not left, I'm not democractic, I'm not republican, I'm a human being who wants the best for other human beings and wants some common sense."
Listen with an open mind and a clear heart. Want to continue this convo in a respectful and kind way?

I'm sharing my personal experience with our son's eczema and provide insights into managing the condition in children. I wanted to emphasize the importance of understanding the causes and symptoms of eczema, as well as the impact of birth stories on eczema as a chronic illness development. I discusses the challenges I personally had in breastfeeding and the role of bathing and skincare routines in managing eczema. I'm also giving guidance on introducing solid foods and the timing of food introductions. I highlight the benefits of introducing new foods in the morning and share a personal story of an allergic reaction to eggs. With so much dietary restrictions, especially when our kids develop eczema, I put an emphasis & dispel misconception about milk and eczema, highlighting the essential vitamins and fats in milk for brain development.
Truly want to encourage parents to come back to the basics and trust the body's natural processes.Takeaways:-Understanding the causes and symptoms of eczema is crucial for effective management.-Bathing and skincare routines play a significant role in managing eczema.-Introducing solid foods should be done gradually and in a specific order to allow the body to develop antibodies.-Timing of food introductions, such as in the morning, can optimize digestion and absorption.-Monitoring and observing the body's response to new foods is essential in managing eczema. Introduce new foods gradually and give the body time to adjust.-Milk is important for brain development and should not be eliminated from a child's diet.-Misconceptions about milk and eczema can lead to unnecessary restrictions.-Animal milk, including cow's milk, has been a part of human diets for thousands of years and provides essential nutrients.
If you have any follow-up questions about child eczema or adult eczema, give me a message @getas.digest, I would love to give you clarifications. You can find more information & connect with other wellness warriors inside of the Geta's Gut Health Facebook community. We'd love to have you join us.
